there is some rain in west virginia. that is drifting in our direction. you may need an umbrella by this afternoon. now we want to concentrate on the roads. >> happy friday. route 97 at old liberty, we still have some closures because of an accident. avoid route 97 for the next 15 minutes or so. 95 at dundalk avenue, we have an accident off to the side. it looks like it's moving pretty well past the accident scene. northbound 95 dundalk avenue. philadelphia boulevard, we have an accident. up to speed on the north and west side of the beltway.

>> good morning. 6:12. 44 downtown at the inner harbor. it is is little chilly air away from the city. temperatures mostly in the 30's. we have a partly cloudy to mostly cloudy skies. you can see clouds and a few sprinkles in virginia. one batch is moving up towards pennsylvania.

this system is headed toward the great lakes. here is a wider view of the storm system. most of the rain is heading to the midwest. it is of shifting to the northwest. we're losing the drying effects of the high pressure and picking up the moisture from this storm system. there is a secondary front out to the west. we will be on the warm side into the weekend. things will be changing. the coldest temperatures are in canada. denver will be in the teens. we will be near 60 this weekend.

the cold air address farther east. we will be colder. there is a change over the next seven days. we're a mild today. afternoon showers in the forecast. the clouds are moving in. rain chances increasing by 2:00 p.m. before things clear out around the area. for the big football game this weekend, mostly cloudy skies and very cold. 15-19 degrees during the game. very cold. most of the weekend looks dry. >> we are dealing with a problem in carroll county. all lanes are closed along route 97 near old liberty.

there is an accident since early this morning. watch for those closures. northbound 95 at dundalk avenue, we have an accident off to the shoulder. further north in almandine on philadelphia, we have an accident. 95 looks good out of the northeast. 54 on the southbound j.f.x. just south of the beltway. this is 70 west of the beltway. looking good in terms of the delays. that is the latest on traffic pulse 11. >> < a month after the tragedy at sandy hook elementary, gunfire rings out at another school. a student walked into a classroom and pulled out a shotgun and opened fire.

the shooter had been bullied by the victim for more than a year. a movie theater shooting suspect will be arraigned for the deadly massacre. a judge ruled there was probable cause that james holmes was responsible for the mass shootings that killed 12 people and injured 70 others. more meetings for joe biden's gun task force in washington. he says the administration wants to consider all sides. task forceesident's meets with the gaming industry after sitting down with gun owners and the national rifle association. teh he nra said there isn't much

sarah caldwell checking on your morning commute. a little busy out there in carroll county. there is a closure along 97 at old liberty. there is an accident blocking all lanes. 65 on 70 in towards 29. running smoothly overall. a nice start on 70 into the beltway. we have an accident in dundalk. flashing lights and not impacting traffic. southbound traffic in great shape on 95. philadelphia boulevard and james avenue, we have an accident. 55 on the west side down to 95 in the southwest corner. eastbound 50 at 97, one more accident.

warmer at the inner harbor, 44 degrees this morning. there are sprinkles in virginia. warmer air is trying to come in . high pressure is breaking down and allowed elements of this storm to come in. we will catch some of the moisture and some of the mild air as well. 30 degrees in denver. cold air is beginning to spill into the northern plains. 16 degrees by game time in denver. that colder air will shift farther east. our temperatures will be much colder than we expect over the next couple days.
